Mum: “Okay baby, you are too young to understand it”

Keji: “When I’m seven years old, you’ll tell me” (she turns seven in April so you can understand her craftiness) Mum: “No, seven is still too young. When you are 18, I will tell you.”

Keji: “Okay, I understand, like when we watch those films and they write one number there like 13 or 16.”

Mum: “Precisely”

Keji: “Okay, you’ll tell me when I’m 30”

Mum:
“That will be too late. By then you would have had your own kids”

Keji: “Okay, I would have had my own husband abi? I don’t like boys. Boys are too rough.

Mum: “Really? How about girls?”

Keji: “Girls are gentle and lovely and beautiful. Those people who say ‘ladies and gentlemen’ are wrong. They should say ‘gentleladies and men’”

Well, gentleladies, that was surely an eye opener for me. Guess what? Methinks you feel the same way! Surely, out of the mouths of babes and suckling, He has ordained strength!

No one could have imagined that 31 years after her torture at the hands of the Chilean military, Michelle Bachelet would be inaugurated as Chile's first female  president. The road from Villa Grimaldi to La Moneda, the presidential palace in the Chilean capital of Santiago, was a long and winding one, taking Bachelet through Australia, East Germany, and finally back to Chile.
