Dearly beloved,

Welcome to the year 2012 – Our Year of Laughter.

It is true every turnaround provokes laughter. Think about it! All through the Scripture, there is laughter every time God shows up for His people.
Any wonder our theme scripture for the year is Psalm 126:2. As the captivity of the children of Israel was divinely brought to an end, what did it provoke? Laughter, of course!

So, in whatever area of your life you have expected a turnaround, get ready to laugh. That means even where it seems impossible or the devil seems to be contending, there is going to be a miraculous intervention that will put laughter in your mouth.

• Sarah’s testimony after she had waited till old age to have a child was: “God has made me laugh, and all who hear will laugh with me.” Genesis 21:6
• The Bible records concerning Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist, “When her neighbors and relatives heard how the Lord had shown great mercy to her, they rejoiced with her.” Luke 1:58
• When the children of Israel were divinely led out of captivity and miraculously crossed the Red Sea, their song was: “I will sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously!” Exodus 15:1
• Hannah’s song after the Lord turned her situation around was, “My heart rejoices in the Lord; my horn is exalted in the Lord. I smile at my enemies, because I rejoice in Your salvation.” 1 Samuel 2:1

King Solomon said, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven…a time to weep, and a time to laugh….” Ecclesiastes 3:1,4
This is your time to laugh! And you will laugh all through the year 2012 in Jesus’ name. That way, no situation will be situation enough to stop you. The lines will fall for you in pleasant places. Those who laughed at you will have no choice but to laugh with you.
As a matter of fact, throughout 2012, your situation will be such that:
“Thanksgivings will pour out of the windows; laughter will spill through the doors.
Things will get better and better. Depression days are over.….” Jeremiah 30:19 TM

And to contend with you is to incur the wrath of God. “He who sits in the heavens shall laugh….”
As you laugh this year because of what God has done or is doing, even when the situation seems contrary, make a conscious decision to laugh. “You shall laugh at destruction and famine…” (Job 5:22). The situation, not you, will give way in Jesus’ name.
So, let your habit all through this year be such that brings a gift of laughter, singing yourself into His presence. Psalm 100:2 TM
